Community Relations News - August 2017

Thank You, from the United Way...

For the 6th consecutive year, SEWI-ATD provided volunteers from our chapter to coach members of the United Way Speaker’s Bureau, made up of 121 agency speakers from all of the non-profit agencies across Milwaukee and Waukesha County that are supported by United Way funds.

Julie Stelter, our United Way Chair, coordinated volunteers at 6 of their 7 sessions this year for sessions in May and June. Our coaches work with small groups at each session to help the speakers practice and perfect their speeches before they go out into the community.

Thanks to all of our coaches, Julie Stelter, Marilyn Zwissler, Leslie Berz, Wendy Butler, Mark Brewer, Tresha Lovell, Brian Mason, Don Doggett, Victor Gray, and Laura Chartier for their time and support in this effort.

United Way would like me to share this message with our volunteers as well:

“On behalf of United Way, thank you to all at Association for Talent Development for joining us for our 2017 United Way Speaker’s Bureau.  We are grateful for your time and leadership to help train our agency partners to speak on behalf of United Way.  We have all chosen to come together for a great task, to go into the community and move others to action on how they can help make an impact in our community.

Thank you for again helping to incorporate and bring to the forefront our message of the importance of our Community Fund.  Our community’s problems are interrelated, and only the Community Fund’s diversity of programs work together to address the complex cause of poverty, teen pregnancy, school readiness, and many others in a way that no single agency, donor, volunteer or sector of the community can do alone.” – Lisa, Rachel and Kathy

Thanks everyone! We couldn’t do this without you!
