Talent Matters: Hiring for Learnability
Register at MMAC
We know talent drives regional success. Have you thought about what drives talent? Learnability is cited as a key indicator of an individual’s ability and willingness to contribute to an organization for the long-term. In this Talent Matters session, we’ll explore the idea of learnability and discuss practical methods for hiring for, developing, and leveraging learnability in our own organizations. Our expert speaker on the topic of ‘Hiring for Learnability’ will be Dr. Theresa Carik, VP, Principal Consultant with Manpower Group’s Right Management.
For over two decades Dr. Carik has been involved in helping organizations, their leaders and employees improve their effectiveness through holistic and integrated approaches, linking behavior change to business impact. She partners with her clients to provide thought leadership and often presents at client events on various topics including the value of competencies, career-pathing, and the psychological contract and performance management connection. She has worked across a broad range of organizations including large complex multinational organizations, large conglomerates, start-ups and family-owned businesses as well as across a variety of industries―including financial, retail, automotive, healthcare, manufacturing, sales & service and higher education.
An employer panel will feature Nan Pum, Director of Professional Development for M3 Insurance, who will discuss M3’s accelerated, rotational career development program, “M3YOU,” that delivers on the promise of hiring for potential and developing specialized skills on-the-job.
Format: • 30-minute Talent Talk on a specific theme or solution, including the latest research and an overview of best practices • 30-minute panel, featuring employer-solution provider partnerships • 30-minute Q&A and/or design thinking exercises to help participants think through new approaches • 30-minute Office Hours with MMAC/M7 and other experts, plus open networking
